dr daniel lautureDr. Daniel Lauture is a Doctor of Medicine, with a Master’s degree in Public Health (Concentration in Global Health system and Development) from The School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, Tulane University, Louisiana, USA.

Daniel Lauture Jr, has fifteen years of experience in the health sector with public and private institutions, international and non-governmental organizations. Dr. Lauture has extensive experience in HIV/AIDS service delivery, human resource management, health systems strengthening and continuous quality improvement.

From 2004 to 2006, he was the Site Coordinator of HIC-Cayes, the first departmental hospital to offer HIV care and treatment services in Haiti. In 2007, as a program manager for the AIDS Relief Consortium, he led the integration of HIV care into the care package of HPG-Gonaives, making this departmental hospital, the first institution to offer Antiretroviral treatment in the Artibonite. As Head of Care & Treatment Unit for Ministry of Public Health and Population, Dr. Lauture supported the expansion of the public institutions network offering HIV services in Haiti. He also led the implementation of the national health improvement initiative program for HIV/AIDS Care and Treatment, HIVQUAL known today as HealthQual. In collaboration with the National Public Health Laboratory, Dr Lauture set up the national specimen referral network for the management of CD4 and viral load specimens. From 2016 to 2019, Dr. Lauture coordinated the implementation of EQUIP project activities in Haiti, including the provision of technical assistance to the MSPP’s national AIDS program and to USAID Haiti’s implementing partners for deploying the Test and Start approach for the treatment of HIV; improving viral load monitoring, facilitating access to HIV prevention and treatment services for key populations.

Dr. Daniel Lauture is co-author of several articles in scientific journals and author of several abstracts which have been presented at national and international health care forums.
