EQUIP project (2016-2019) was a multi-country mechanism centrally funded by USAID, led by a consortium of Africa based partners with extensive experience in comprehensive service delivery. The partnership capitalized on PEPFAR’s investment in African partners that have track records equal to US based partners and significant technical expertise in implementing HIV prevention, care and treatment services.
Maternal and Child Health (MatCH) a component of the Wits Health Consortium of the School of Public Health at the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa led the activities in Haiti with the support off a local staff.To ensure a smooth transition, all personnel implementing EQUIP in Haiti under MatCH were transferred to ISPD.

EQUIP contribution has been crucial in developing national guidelines and launching for MMSD, PrEP, HIV Self-Testing, Index Case Testing (ICT), tenofovir/lamivudine/dolutegravir (TLD) transition. Overall EQUIP has made progressive strides in implementing a fully fledge HIV program in Haiti leading to significant improvement in program performance and patient’s outcomes.
